Back to school: What do children really need to learn and work?

Work materials for first graders

There are some important items of equipment for first graders. In addition to the school bag, the first desk and the school bag, a child also needs various work materials such as exercise books, folders, pencils (crayons, wax crayons), erasers, sharpeners, paint boxes, brushes, scissors and glue. There is often a materials list from the class teacher that contains helpful recommendations, but no binding specifications. The specifications for exercise book numbers, size and line type are particularly important, as these support the first writing and arithmetic exercises.

To practise at home, we offer templates for writing and arithmetic that can be printed out and used. In addition to these traditional materials, learning aids such as magnetic boards, whiteboards or themed cards can also support learning at home.

Another important point is access to a PC to work with e-learning programs and use the Internet as a reference work. Google and Wikipedia have now replaced many traditional reference works.
