What suitable children's desk chairs are available from moll?

Sitting healthily and safely at the children's desk

An adjustable and ergonomic swivel chair will accompany children for years to come. Just like toys, a swivel chair must be able to withstand a lot and adapt to new room requirements. Because just like your child, a children's desk chair should also be able to develop. The ergonomic moll offers your child many opportunities for development. At the same time, it forms the basis for efficient and, above all, ergonomic learning. The moll is perfectly complemented by the right children's swivel chair. Experts agree that children today sit far too much. They spend a large part of their school day sitting, and then there is homework waiting for them at home. An ergonomic children's desk chair is only perfect for your child if it can be adjusted in all directions and dimensions, if it can adapt to your child's changing needs and grow with them.

Healthy sitting requires variable changes in sitting posture

Sitting rigidly and still is now considered outdated. Instead, it is important to be constantly moving and changing position.  The chair must adapt smoothly to the natural and intuitive changes in the body's position so that different sitting positions are supported. It is therefore important that the seat supports natural changes in sitting posture and promotes an active working posture through sufficient seat tilt (at least -4°). In order to maintain freedom of movement for children and promote a healthy posture, moll does not use armrests.

Grows in all directions – the moll

The first setting is the correct seat height. This depends in particular on your child's height, but also on their proportions. With our instructions, you can adjust the moll perfectly for your child. First, select the chair height so that the front edge of the seat is approximately at the height of the lower kneecap. The seat height is correct when the angle between the thighs and torso is slightly open (greater than 90°) and the feet are flat on the floor, i.e., in full contact with the floor. Now adjust the seat depth. The thighs should be supported over a large area and the front edge of the seat should not press against them. The distance between the front edge of the chair and your child's lower leg should therefore be about four fingers wide. This ensures that the legs remain well supplied with blood. The third step is to adjust the backrest and its height. This should be set so that the backrest supports the body just below the shoulder blades. This setting relieves pressure on the back and also ensures that the entire length of the back is adequately supported when leaning back. It is important that the desk and chair always form a single unit and that ergonomic sitting is guaranteed.

More safety for your child on the desk chair

Just as important as ergonomics is the safety of a children's desk chair. It can be particularly dangerous if a chair can tip over. To rule out the risk of tipping, try the following test: Look down at the chair from above. Can you see the chair's casters clearly? If so, then the base is large enough and the chair is guaranteed to be stable. The Maximo chair from moll , was awarded a "very good" rating by Öko-Test because, as a quality product, it meets all the criteria for a healthy children's desk chair for doing homework. It is also suitable for children aged five and above, as well as teenagers. Incidentally, all moll grow with the child into adulthood, as the chairs are designed for heights from 1.10 m to 2.00 m.

Accept your children’s spontaneous changes in posture: from crouching on the floor to slouching in their chair. To add a splash of color to the kids’ room, colorful fabric options are available. The Scooter cushions come Scooter solid colors like green, blue, or pink, as well as in cool patterned fabrics.
